Entropy

We ran from, we built up
A serious decline
Introduced when my mother died
Encouraged into place
When Scott took an early egression from life
We’re all feeling it now
It's not easy to pretend
Entropy doesn’t exist
And that it won’t eat at the constructs
I hide my satiblity in
I meet my brother for brunch
We barely talk about death
Circumventing that there is really not much left
It’s not easy to pretend
That what I’ve built isn’t failing
And what will be here tomorrow isn’t just a vestige of what I had as a child
We’re all feeling it now
All hope is false
I've noticed as I've grown
The floors in my house mown foundation built on stone but the whole world's crumbling
I've built up walls to keep the ocean out
Dug ditches around to prevent future flooding
When I come to suddenly meet the sea
The disappearing sun and waves at my feet
How deep
How deep is my mother?
Can I dive in and find her?
Where is my past?
If I no longer breath is there anything I can get back?
Oh how we travel to the source
To a successful conclusion
Onward and forward
All energies being put into being greater than what's around us
There’s nothing here even worth
The weight of our blood
